Standards
Editorial policy
Cat owners make real decisions from what we publish. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Sourcing
Every health claim cites at least one primary authority: the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center, the AVMA, the Merck Veterinary Manual, WSAVA guidelines, or a veterinary college such as the Cornell Feline Health Center. We don’t source from other pet blogs or content aggregators.
Verdicts
Food pages carry one of four verdicts — Safe, OK in moderation, Caution, or Toxic. Where the evidence is thin or experts disagree (for example avocado or macadamia nuts in cats), we say so plainly and err on the side of caution. A food stays “in review” until its verdict is resolved and cited.
Originality
Each page has its own explanation, FAQ and mechanism text. We don’t spin or duplicate content between pages.
Corrections & updates
Pages show a “last updated” date. If you spot an error, tell us — we review every report and log material corrections on the page.
Commercial independence
Advertising and any affiliate links never influence verdicts. We will not publish pet insurance content.
